Beetle
Woah I just saw a beetle. He was shiny turquoise kind of black in a way that metal sheens. He was very cute and beautiful. The sunlight on him made him even more glowing and the warm around him away from shadow was nice. He was just crawling, going about his own business, not a care in the world. Such simplicity really puts things in perspective and makes me see the beauty and sublime in the world. Wow. I'm so grateful to be alive because of a cute little bug that has aesthetic and simple beauty and a nice aura. Everyone should take the time to appreciate creation and innocence in the world. OOOhhhhhh weeeeeee!!! I'm so happyyyyyyyyy yayayyayayayayaayaya.
Just kidding. That beetle isn't beautiful, you just think it's beautiful because there are certain textures that you find pleasing and the beetle happens to match or mirror them. Actually the beetle is covered in dirt and feces probably, neither of which are beautiful at all. And in reality, the beetle is actually a serial killer. That beetle has killed and eaten other bugs to become as large as it is. And it's not even really that large honestly, it's just about the size of the top half or so of my thumb. I saw this beetle and I thought deeply about his crimes and his utter lack of remorse. It's sickening. He has destroyed and absorbed multiple other living creatures and feels no regrets or pain because of it. He's a psychopath. He's dangerous. He's a threat to society. If we let him go, there's no telling how many more he'll kill.
So I stomped his shit in. I crushed him under my sandal and listened to the crunch of his little exoskeleton and he became goop. I didn't feel good or bad after I did this, I was only doing my part to extol justice on this little murderer. I wonder if he felt, in his last second of life before I flattened him, the same terror that he's inflicted on his victims. Probably not because he's just a dumb bug and also a psychopath incapable of feeling bad about doing evil. But like I said I didn't get satisfaction from what I did, so I don't really care how the beetle felt before he died and his soul went to hell.
The beetle was probably a bad person in a previous life and now he's a beetle as punishment for the bad things he did as a person. He probably stole, killed, raped, lied and engaged in every other abomination the world has to offer. And now as a beetle he's doing even more bad things, so when I exterminated him he probably became something even worse, like a fungus or a bacteria or something. So he'll probably remain in a state like that-- lingering between form and formless and swimming in mindlessness, pain and darkness-- for the next couple centuries, if not the next millennia. Good for him honestly.
